ZOO RANGERS

Since April of 2018, I’ve been involved in this fun, kid-centric, uber-creative project called Zoo Rangers! It’s a fun subscription-based storytelling service revolving around an imaginary zoo and all it’s wonderful inhabitants – all as if they’re your kiddo’s pen pal. Every month the recipient gets a letter/story about whichever section of the zoo they’re interested in (What’s their favorite animal? Go…) – stories which are not only fun and full of humor, but also education and full of heart and valuable lessons. Are the kiddos learning to read? Do they just love being read to? Boom…Here ya go!

Since it’s conception, I’ve been tasked with providing all of the illustrated imagery on the site and in the letters themselves, and lemme tell ya those 80 animals (so far…) will always remain near and dear. One of my favorite projects of all time was illustrating the map of the zoo itself, which can be viewed and downloaded on the site. And don’t even get me started on the group photo… so daunting yet SO cool! A lucky illustrator, my imagination has been truly unbridled and highly encouraged. It’s been a blast, and I look forward to more illustrations to come for Zoo Rangers (at least until the creators are sick of me)!

The creators of Zoo Rangers themselves have such great spirit and big hearts to match their humor and creativity, and I couldn’t be more honored to be involved and more proud of my work. So please enjoy the artwork here, and PLEASE go to zoorangers.com to subscribe, support, and let the fun stories begin…

This is a small smattering of animals I’ve illustrated that inhabit Bunaboom Zoo…

A team of characters and their homemade Halloween costume!

Here’s an outlined version of the map I illustrated of Bunaboom Zoo (initially called Abraka Zoo). The creators of Zoo Rangers then took this and added color and cool labels and graphics. A downloadable and printable version of the map is available HERE on the Zoo Rangers site!

Before actually drawing the above map, I spent a good amount of time having fun and coming up with the look of many of the buildings and features of the zoo. It was so fun letting my imagination soar in these crude concept sketches. Hope you enjoy…

When you sign up for Zoo Rangers, subscribers are sent some fun coloring book pages I created. Here are a sampling of those…
